Quinn Dio, left.

“Hello, my name is Quinn and I’m from Amherst Central High School. When I signed up for this camp, I didn’t know that I would learn so much about STEM, gain useful information about campus life, and meet so many amazing people! During the camp, we heard from many different scientists in both lectures and the laboratory and got to learn about each of their individual stories of how they got to where they are today. We also got hands on experiences such as performing CRISPR in the lab, finding fossils at Penn Dixie and the Lewiston Gorge, and looking through a microscope at water from the tanks at the Niagara Aquarium. During free time, we were able to play games such as Uno and Kan Jam with other campers and also hang out in our own apartments. My favorite part of the camp was making new friends that I never would have met unless I came to this camp! If you are interested in going into the STEM field or not, this camp is a great opportunity to experience college life, expand your knowledge, meet new people, and have fun!”
